ENGINEERING EXPERIENCE

Design and build a simulation that triggers a specific experience or emotion in the user/viewer.
The object/space should be in the area of 800mm x 1500mm x 2500mm and should succeed in creating a complete and extreme atmosphere which exposes the user to a personal fear, a specific feeling, a fantasy, a snapshot in time. Use whatever medium necessary to convey the experience: video, sound, smell, movement, vibration, electronics, furry carpeting, lights, colour, etc. etc. The simulations should be fully functional and the presentation will take the form of an exhibition (to be confirmed). Some things to think about are:

1. What constitutes experience? How does one artificially replicate it?
What purpose does it serves? What do you want to experiment with or make us aware of?
2. Does the work have a real-world context? Is it an intervention, a performance, a service?
3. Does the project speak of larger systems? Does it make aware something intimate?
Does it alter your perception of something in a meaningful way?
4. Is it for a single participant or a group? Is it public or private?
